The South Caldwell Spartan Band is an award-winning high school concert, marching, and jazz program located in Hudson, North Carolina. With a membership of 200+ students, the band is recognized across the state for their achievement in music performance and education.

Grading Policy:
Performance Grades (40%) - Concerts, Masterclasses, Sectionals, etc...
Test Grades (40%) - Weekly Playing Tests, see syllabus
Homework Grades (10%) - Self Practice Assessment, Music assignments, etc..
Participation Grades (10%) - 1 grade per 9 weeks, materials, instrument, daily participation, etc...
Late Work Policy:
Students have one week to complete missed assignments (playing tests) for full credit. Students who have completed the assignment on time, may continue to improve their score through the end of the 9 weeks. Concerts, Masterclasses, and Sectionals are required. There are excused reasons for missing a concert clearly explained in Band Handbook. Any excused absences from performance will have one week to complete make up assignment. Unexcused absences from concerts may not be made up and enter gradebook as "0".
